Hello There!

Hi, I'm Dave - and I’m really glad you’re here. Becoming a celebrant wasn’t about changing direction so much as leaning into something I’d always been drawn to: people, stories, moments that matter and, fun!

Frequently Asked Questions

Planning a ceremony often comes with lots of questions and, sometimes, a few you’re not even sure how to ask. This page is designed to give you a clear sense of how I work, what you can expect, and how we’ll shape a ceremony that feels right for you.

If you don’t see your question answered here, I’m always happy to chat and talk things through.

A celebrant works with you to create and lead a ceremony that is personal, meaningful, and reflective of who you are. Rather than following a set script, I take time to get to know you and craft a ceremony that feels natural, relaxed, and true to your story.

Yes. I am a registered HSE solemniser, which means I can legally officiate weddings in Ireland. You will need to register your Intent to Marry with the HSE in advance but I will talk you through that.

I officiate weddings, elopements, vow renewals, baby naming ceremonies, funerals, memorials, and ashes scattering ceremonies. Each ceremony is created with care and tailored to the people involved.

Absolutely. I work with people of all beliefs, traditions, identities, and family structures including mixed-belief families, non-religious ceremonies, and LGBTQ+ couples and families.

I’m based in Kerry and regularly travel throughout the Republic of Ireland. Travel details are discussed openly and clearly as part of the booking process.

As early as you can, particularly for peak wedding season. That said, if your date is coming up soon, it’s always worth getting in touch to check availability.

Once your date is secured, we’ll arrange our planning chats and I’ll guide you through the next steps. You’ll receive a questionnaire to help shape your ceremony, and we’ll work together at a pace that suits you.

As involved as you’d like. Some couples and families love being hands-on, others prefer gentle guidance. Either way, the ceremony is created in partnership and always reflects your wishes.

Most ceremonies last between 25 and 35 minutes, though this can vary depending on the type of ceremony and any enhancements you choose to include.

Enhancements are optional elements that can add symbolism, warmth, or light-hearted moments to a ceremony. They can also be a lovely way to include children, family members, or guests. We’ll only include what feels right for you.

Yes. You’re welcome to include readings, music, cultural traditions, or personal rituals. If you’d like ideas or guidance, I’m happy to help.

Yes. You’ll have the opportunity to review your ceremony beforehand, ensuring everything feels comfortable and true to you and it is no problems to make amendments if required.

For weddings, a booking fee secures your date, with the remaining balance payable closer to the ceremony. Your approval of the final ceremony draft will be payment of your final balance. Full details are provided clearly at the time of booking.

Yes. Absolutely! Elopements and smaller ceremonies are something I particularly love. They allow for a relaxed, meaningful focus on the commitment you’re making to each other and can be carried out in nearly any location which gives you great options.

Simply get in touch via the contact page. We can arrange a chat to see if we’re the right fit and talk through your ideas with no pressure or obligation.

Ready to work together?

My style is fun and light-hearted where it feels right, professional without being formal, warm without being over-sentimental. My ceremonies are deeply meaningful without being heavy, and joyful without feeling forced. They are this because they are about you and your story.
